Category: Let's talk
I have been meaning to post this topic, but I just kept forgetting to do that. Another post inspired me to do it, though. So, here goes.
Are there any of you who love baby dolls. I'm not talking about the collectables. I'm talking about actual baby dolls that kids play with.
I love them to death. My bed is full of them. It is a wonder I still have space to sleep. My favorites are water babies, air dolls, and those dolls that have the bodies that are filled with fiber fill but have the plastic arms, heads, and legs. I do have some dolls that talk and that, and I'm looking into getting the Dream Baby, as well as some Lee Middleton dolls because those dolls feel and look so real. You can hold them like real babies. They are awesome! So, what about some of you people?
Well if I had a little girl, I would get her lots of baby dolls or if I had more money, I might get one for myself. LOL
You could actually get some good ones at really good prices at Walmart or Toys R Us. Most of my dolls cost between ten or twenty dollars. Of course, the talking ones cost more. Most around forty.
Well, here when I first saw this post I thought you were talking about those people that have specially made dolls that are life-sized for babies and look almost completely real with moving eyes and hair and everything. Most people that get those can't have kids, but want a baby and those look so real that lots of people think they are unless you look closely at them. Personally, I think they should try for adoption. Who cares if the kid comes from your egg and someone you loves sperm. If you raise it and love it; it's yours.
Anyway, I kept some of my old dolls from when I was young, couple of the plastic kind, one of those bab alive ones that you can feed and it pees, and a couple of soft bodied ones with the plastic arms, oh and a couple of ones filled with beans. I do collect porcelain dolls too.
I love baby dolls!
my sister used to have this doll called amazing amy, it was just like a real baby. you had to feed her, give her a drink, put her in the cot, give her the toys etc at the correct intervals or she'd just keep crying. you always had to figure out the corect thing that she wanted.
she was good for a while... until she started waking us up really early in the morning with her crying. that's probably the best doll i've seen, so close to a baby
they are now implementing that kind of thing in education, computerised babies, with logging capabilities so it can feed back on how it is treated over the week. they use it in personal and social development.
Well, the Lee Middleton dolls are those types. They look and feel very real.
Some women, and I have a few friends who are barren, cannot adopt for a number of reasons. The CPS Agency is being a total piece of junk and not cooperating and acting stupid in the worse way, which happens a lot, and some people can't deal with it, and some get cheated out of adoption because of it. They do not have the money. Or, their homes cannot pass the study. Oh, there are a number of reasons. Then, there are CPS agencies that give them an immense amount of trouble because the parent is blind. I've offered to be a cerrigate for a friend of mine so she will not have to fight the stupid system for a child. She keeps trying but nothing is working.
I love baby dolls myself, but i don't have any of them anymore. Yup, my high school has this thing called the think it over program ,where you take one of those dolls poster seven was describing home with you over the weekend, and you have to do everything for it. the teacher has the key, so you can't shut it up if it cries at night.
I heard about some kids who got pulled over because this doll was out of it's carseat and it looked like a real baby. Gees, the stuff they're making these days ...
I've my cat, he's close enough to a doll for me, especially when he's on his back purring. It's like having a doll complete with his own heater, and purr box!!!
I'm not sure i'll have any animals any time soon, considering that i'm extremely picky, and our personalities have to match to a T.
If there are any baby doll lovers who do not wish to post here and want to remain private for the sake of not being judged or laughed at, feel free to send me a PM, and we can talk.
I love cabbage patch dolls. I have several cabbage patches on my shelves. I hate that they are becoming obsolete!cargo
Has anyone heard of the Shrinking Violit or the Casper talking dolls? I had those dolls when I was pretty young. I sure loved them and I an not ashamed of it!
Sexy Squirrel, I've not heard of those dolls. CAn you still get them? If so, I"d like ot add them to my collection.
I love Cabbage Patch also. I've notice that they are getting harder and harder to find. That is a shame.
Oh, my God! The typoes in that post are unreal! Sorry about that!
yeah i did that think it over thing, i miss it but i don't. lol what's dream baby, that amazing amy thing sounds like what i had to deal with for a week. lol and yeah my friend got pulled over cuz they look real and the police was like, doesn't matter, your supposed to pretend those things are real so still have to be in the car seat. lol
mom is planning to buy me an american girl doll but i don't know do you think i'm too damn old for that? the reason i'd want that is because i have a special piece of clothing i'd like to put on her. It's a dress i used to where when i turned 1 year's old. i have the whole outfit and i'd like to put that on a baby doll for collection purposes. I'd like 1 that has the same exact face i used to have as a baby. that would be very nice. i mostly want it for collection purposes rather than playing with it. although i would like water babies that feel real. i never had those even as a young child.
I have to post here kuz when I saw this I just about fainted. lol, it'll sound very weird to anyone who's ever talked to me before, but I, love, baby dolls! Love, them, and know I'm not kidding you. Since I was a baby, I've been the one who played with baby dolls and my sister was the one who played with stuffed animals.
I've always adored baby dolls, not the talking peaing sleeping ones, but the simple stuffed ones with squishy bodies and plastic arms, legs, and head. I still have a particular baby doll that I carry around sometimes. lol, my husband thinks I'm crazy. I call it Beebee, it's arms and legs and bald head are hard plastic, like really hard plastic, and it's body is full of little beans. I always liked to squeeze her when I got agrivated. But that's a pretty doll, bald and with these little ridges in her head and blue eyes ...
Ok, I feel really rediculous now. heheheh, anyone gimmy crap about this and I'll kill you. lol. I just had a moment there, I even had to grab my Beebee. :P
Jessie
Jessie, that doll you described sounds like I've seen it before or I think I had one of those before years ago..
That amazing Amy doll sounds cool..very interesting indeed!
I've kinda always wanted one of those educational babies to see how'd I put up with the crying and so forth before becoming a parent. :) to bad they're so costly..but not as pricy as an actual child!
My baby is so simple, it's a hobo compared to Amazing Amy. lol, but I like the simple baby dolls that are like the length of my forearm, full of beans and hard plastic arms and legs and head, no hair, bla bla bla. I'm very picky about my baby dolls. :P
I had an Amazing Amy doll. She was my favorite. There were a whole bunch of different things you could feed her, you would hold her if she cried, there was even a thermometer and medicine you gave her when she was sick. It was awesome. Lol, she came with a spoonful of liver that you could feed to her, but she never wanted it, and would let you know she hated it if you tried to feed it to her. Unfortunately, the sensors started to go bad after awhile and it became harder and harder to feed her, so she's packed away now. But most definitely, if I could get hold of one that worked, I would play with her again for old time's sake, and I wouldn't be ashamed of it.
I wonder of the Amazing amy doll is similar to the amazing amanda doll that was out a few years ago. I never had either toy, but would have loved either of them when I was little if they had existed in the early nineties when I was between four and five.
